About Fore River Company

Fore River Company is a multi-generational family-owned business that has been in operation in Portland, Maine since 1979. We value and appreciate long term relationships within our office team and with our tenants and outside contractors.

The team

Ricardo Quesado founded the firm in 1979 after practicing architecture in Vancouver, BC and Portland, Maine. His brother Peter Quesada, joined the firm in 1983 after practicing law in New York City and is now president of the company. More recently, Anthony Quesada, son of Ricardo, has joined the principals as part of the leadership team.

We believe in establishing long-lasting relationships and several of our colleagues in the office have been with us since 1985. 

Owner managers

We develop and own office, warehouse and retail space in southern Maine and Charleston, South Carolina. We manage all of our own properties but do not manage for other owners. We think of ourselves as owner-managers for our tenants, not as typical real estate “developers.” We’ve created a portfolio of buildings that we maintained for years, only occasionally adding new developments in place and rarely selling our inventory.  

Although our focus has been on Maine real estate, we have acquired and developed a core of properties in South Carolina in the last 20 years.

We provide exceptional service to our tenants and some have been with us for more than 25 years. One of our original tenants started with us in 4,000 SF in one building in 1982 and now occupies 70,000 SF in another building.
